Beginning in the fall of 2014, OhioMeansJobs K-12 replaces the Ohio Career Information System (OCIS). OhioMeansJobs, the state’s premiere job and résumé bank, is available at no cost to all Ohio schools, families and citizens. On the Web, OhioMeansJobs K-12 offers comprehensive, career development tools, online training and resources specifically for students and teachers. Students can learn more about their career interests and in-demand jobs, search for college and training programs, develop meaningful plans for high school and beyond and much more.
Districts that currently use OCIS are asked to direct students to print or save their information before July 1, 2014. All schools can take advantage of the online information sessions about OhioMeansJobs through May. To register, school and district staff members should log in to their SAFE accounts and access STARS, search for the training using the keyword ohiomeansjobs. Visit http://www.education.ohio.gov/careerconnections for more information.
